1. Roomba iRobot i3+ from iRobot EVO

The i3+ EVO and its i3 EVO sibling the i3 EVO are the same robots that differ only in that the i3+ has self-emptying capabilities. That makes the i3+ a great choice for people who want an entirely automated cleaning, hands-free cleaning experience but don't mind manually emptying their robot's dustbin when it is full.

Both robots are good at removing surface dirt on hard floors and carpets and can move around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software creates smart maps of your home that assist the i3+ to navigate and clean up efficiently. The i3+ isn't able to have obstacle avoidance capabilities like the i7+ or other Top Rated Robot Vacuum-rated robots we test. It may get stuck on power cords or socks and have difficulty navigating between surfaces, such as rug and hardwood.

iRobot suggests that you clear areas in which the i3+ EVO will vacuum before you use it, and include putting away any clutter or toys it may come across. The i7+ is quicker and more maneuverable in our tests than the eufy RoboVac G30. It also cleaned large pet hair pieces from all surfaces including carpeting. The main advantage it has over the Eufy is its self-emptying bin, which removes major maintenance sources and reduces recurring cost.

We were also awestruck by the i7+'s compatibility with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services, which we used to instruct the robot to start, stop or pause its cleaning session, move itself around the room and sweep an area. The process of connecting the i7+ to these services was simple and easy with the iRobot Home app. We were able, once connected, to give voice commands to the i7+ like "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." 3. Dyson Cyclone V10

In a world of vacuums that are cordless and look like minivans or buses, this tiny Dyson model feels like an old-fashioned sports car. It is powerful enough to replace a stand-up vacuum in the majority of homes, yet it is also small enough to fit on a coffee table or bookcase.

The V10 is powered by a Lithium-ion battery with 7 cells of energy that produces power without fading for 60 minutes. The advanced whole-machine filtering system traps allergens, then lets cleaner air into your home. Its smart navigation system uses iAdapt to stay clear of obstacles and navigate your home, but it isn't equipped with the mapping capability of more sophisticated models such as our top choices and the i3+ EVO and the j7+ series. This means that it is sometimes stuck on things like phone cords or low furniture, and it frequently runs out of battery power before making it back to its base.

The Xiaomi Mi robot is superior in many ways to the Roomba 694 because it has fewer components that require regular cleaning, is outfitted with an allergen-trapping HEPA filtering system, has a lower cost of recurring costs, has more advanced automation abilities and is better able to navigate its own.
