Its quick navigation and smart cleaning maps make it quick to clean and efficient in dealing with larger particles such as pet hair. It also comes with a powerful suction and a self-emptying bin. This high-performance vacuum and mop uses sensors that help it avoid obstacles and pet waste. It also learns the layout of your home over time to offer more efficient cleaning. The app lets you set up zones and modify the cleaning schedule. It has a battery life that is similar to other models.

It's more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, but it has superior suction, an onboard dustbin that automatically fills up its base, and it supports voice commands through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can even clean the floor after it vacuums, a feature that we've not seen on other robot vacuum/mop combinations.

3. Roomba X40 from iRobot

With an elegant circular design that looks like a regular Roomba than the competition's compact models This mop and robot vacuum is among the most attractive designs in our tests. iRobot’s latest flagship model is also the most intelligent. It features advanced features like Enhanced Dirt Detection and future compatibility (another company’s robot that can wash mop pads on its own).

It's the only robot vacuum mop cleaner robot/mop that has 100% in our testing thanks to a blend of high-tech sensors that include a camera, structured light system and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot we tested that can completely self-refill and empty its base station and boasts an its own self-cleaning mop pads.

As with other iRobot models as well, the X40 is user-friendly, offering an intuitive mobile app interface, and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, and Google Assistant. The only drawback is that it's an eerily noisy device which could be an issue if you use it in the morning prior to work or in the evening as you try to fall asleep.

It's also quite expensive, though it's not as expensive as the Ecovacs Omni or the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra both of which are similarly capable and look better. This is a dual-purpose vacuum that's very capable, but it will cost you more and create more noise.

iRobot L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the high-end robot vacuum and mop. It has a number of advanced features that help you forget your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaner, similar to Ecovacs top-of-the-line X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It features a multi-functional dock that can automatically emptys the vacuum's bin, refills the water tank, and washes and dries the mop pads.

The smart robot uses LIDAR and structured lighting to create floor plans and detect obstacles. It can navigate more efficiently than its premium competitors. It also comes with a front-mounted camera that can detect hazards in real-time but this wasn't completely foolproof in our tests, and was often confused with power cords or obstructions.

Its vacuum cleaner has a maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than sufficient to do the job. It also has "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates the intensity at which the vac works and alters the frequency of cleaning for various areas of the house in accordance with the degree of dirt they tend to be.

If you own a larger home, it's worth selecting a robot vacuum cleaners uk that comes with zones or spot cleaning modes. This lets you tell the robot which area of your house needs to be cleaned using the app or voice control. A stair mode can be beneficial if you have number of furniture. The well-designed iRobot app guides you through a mapping run that gathers information about your floorplan and any "no-go" areas you mark on the map. You can use it to create cleaning schedules, plan the perfect spot for cleaning or prioritize your most filthy rooms for better performance. The app also grants access to a host of features, such as seasonal suggestions, custom maps, and advanced settings for your cleaning.

It is also able to reach corners and under furniture better because its shape is more rectangular. It also has strong 8000 Pascal suction and combs that are intelligent for hair of pets. You can also create a spot-cleaner that thoroughly cleans an area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a more sleek and less expensive alternative to the iRobot Roomba. It has a more attractive design, akin to Dolce & Gabbana. The twin cameras are designed like cute little eyes. It's good at vacuuming but is more prone to get caught on low thresholds and is a bit noisier than the other top robot vacuums we've examined. It also has an app that's less intuitive and a small base station that doesn't double as a bin to empty.
